Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between Barkeley Barks Doggy Daycare (“Barkeley Barks”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and the dog owner (“Client”, “you”, “your”).

 

1. Acceptance of Terms


By:
a) Enrolling a dog with Barkeley Barks;
b) Permitting a dog to attend daycare; or
c) Using any of our services; you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Duty of Care & Emergency Authority


2.1 While in our care, Barkeley Barks will take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety, health, and welfare of your dog.
2.2 In the event of illness, injury, or emergency, and where neither you nor your emergency contact can be reached, you authorise us to seek veterinary treatment and act in your dog’s best interests based on professional advice.
2.3 You agree to Barkeley Barks seeking veterinary attention from their registered Vets when needed.
2.4 You agree to be fully responsible for all veterinary fees and associated costs incurred.
2.5 You consent to your dog participating in supervised group play, rest periods, and structured enrichment activities as part of the daycare environment.


7:30–9:00am – Welcome & Wiggle Drop-Offs

9:00–10:00am – Sniff, Socialise & Settle
Making friends, exploring, and getting comfy for the day ahead.
10:00–11:45am – Brain Games & Playtime Fun
Enrichment activities to keep clever pups happy and engaged.
11:45am–1:30pm – Lunch & Lazy Lounging
Time to refuel, relax, and recharge those paws.
1:30–3:00pm – More Games & Doggy Adventures
Afternoon fun with stimulating activities and playful moments.
3:00–4:00pm – Chill & Cuddle Hour
Winding down with calm time, cuddles, and gentle play.
4:00–5:55pm – Home Time & Happy Reunions
Pick-up time full of wagging tails and excited greetings

3. Enrolment, Cancellation & Termination


3.1 - Initial Enrolment Period
All dogs are subject to a 30-day initial enrolment period to assess suitability.
3.2 - Cancellation by the Client
After the enrolment period, one calendar month’s written notice is required to cancel. Fees remain payable during this notice period. There is no minimum fixed-term contract beyond the notice requirement 
3.3 - Rejoining
Re-enrolment is subject to availability and may require a new enrolment period.
3.4 - Termination by Barkeley Barks
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate services immediately where a dog is deemed unsuitable (including but not limited to aggression, excessive stress, persistent disruptive behaviour, or welfare concerns).
Any unused prepaid days will be refunded.

 

4. Fees, Attendance & Opening Hours


4.1 - Monthly Fees
Fees are calculated over 51 weeks per year and spread evenly across 12 months.

4.2 - Reserved Days
Your dog’s place is reserved on agreed regular days. Fees remain payable regardless of non-attendance, including illness or additional holidays. Clients must let Barkeley Barks know as soon as possible if their dog cannot attend daycare. If the client contacts Barkeley Barks before 11am the day before cancellation, they may be able to bank their day, subject to availability. 
4.3 - Holiday Allowance
Clients may take up to 4 weeks of holiday per year without charge.
Adequate notice must be given (Preferably a month but no later than 11:00am the previous working day)
Additional absences outside this allowance remain payable but days may be banked subject to availability. 
4.4 - Swaps & Banked Days
Subject to availability:
Days may be swapped if notice is given before 11:00am on the previous working day
Cancelled days may be “banked” and must be used within 30 days
Banked days are non-refundable and non-transferable
4.5 - Opening Hours
Drop-off: 7:30am – 9:00am (Mon–Fri)
Pick-up: 4:00pm – 5:55pm (Mon–Thurs) 
Pick-up: 4:00pm – 5:45pm (Friday)
Closing time: 6:00pm (Mon-Thurs)
Closing time: 5:45pm (Friday)
Gates are closed between 9:00am and 4:00pm.
4.6 - Late Collection
A fee of £5 per 5-minute period will be charged after 5:55pm on Mondays-Thursdays & 5:45pm on Fridays
4.7 - Transport
Routine transport is not provided. Dogs must be dropped off and collected by the Client unless otherwise agreed.

 

5. Ad Hoc Bookings

Additional daycare days are subject to availability and charged at the current ad hoc rate.

6. Payment Terms

6.1 Invoices must be paid within 7 days or by the stated due date.
6.2 Late payments may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
6.3 We reserve the right to recover reasonable administrative and debt recovery costs.
6.4 Payments must be made in full without deduction or set-off.
6.5 Upon termination, all outstanding balances become immediately due.
6.6 Fees are reviewed annually. A minimum of 30 days’ notice will be given of any changes.

7. Liability & Risk


7.1 - Client Responsibility
You remain responsible for any damage or injury caused by your dog to people, property, or other animals, and agree to cover any associated costs. Clients are responsible for spaying their female dogs, they cannot come into daycare while on season and we do not accept any responsibility should your dog become pregnant. 
7.2 - Inherent Risk
You acknowledge that daycare involves group interaction and that minor injuries or illnesses may occur despite appropriate supervision and care which we cannot being responsible for.
7.3 - Standard of Care
We will take all reasonable precautions to provide a safe, clean, and well-managed environment.
7.4 - Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability shall not exceed the lower of:
£1,000; or
The total fees paid in the preceding 3 months
7.5 - Nothing in these Terms limits liability for:
Death or personal injury caused by negligence
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
Any liability which cannot legally be excluded
7.6 - Insurance
Clients are strongly advised to maintain appropriate pet insurance, including third-party liability cover.

8. Behaviour & Suitability

 

You must disclose all relevant behavioural history, including aggression, anxiety, guarding, or previous incidents.
Failure to provide accurate information may result in immediate termination without refund.

 

9. Health & Welfare Requirements

 

  • Dogs must be fully vaccinated and kept up to date

  • Flea and worm treatments must be current

  • Proof of vaccinations must be provided annually

  • Neutering Policy:

  • We reserve the right to require male dogs over 12 months to be neutered when behaviour or group safety requires it.

  • Female dogs in season must not attend and must remain absent for a minimum of 4 weeks.

  • A females first season is refundable, however any time off due to seasons after this remain payable and it is up to the owner to have them spayed. 

  • Priority will be given to members with spayed/neutered dogs

10. Illness & Medication

 

  • Dogs showing signs of contagious illness must not attend.

  • If a dog becomes unwell during daycare, you will be contacted for immediate collection.

  • We may isolate your dog at our registered vets if you are unable to collect.

  • Kennel Cough:

  • Dogs must remain absent for at least 10 days from the onset of symptoms.

  • Medication will only be administered with prior written consent and clear instructions.

  • Euthanasia decisions will only be made with the client or emergency contact consent unless a veterinarian advises immediate action on humane grounds.

 

11. Environment & Safety

 

Dogs and puppies will socialise off-lead within secure, enclosed facilities and interact with dogs of various ages 
In emergencies, dogs may be transported safely using appropriate restraints. In the event of evacuation, dogs will be removed and cared for safely until collection.

 

12. Crating & Rest

 

Crates may be used for rest, feeding, or short-term management. Dogs will not be crated for longer than 1hr in a 8 hour period in accordance with welfare regulations.

 

13. Feeding & Supplies


We provide treats unless otherwise requested. Main meals must be supplied by the Client if required. You must inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements.

 

14. Enrichment & Play

 

All dogs participate in supervised enrichment activities appropriate to their needs.
Toys or treats may be removed if guarding or unsafe behaviour occurs.

 

15. Closures

 

We are closed on Bank Holidays and between Christmas and New Year. Fees are calculated across 51 weeks to reflect this. Where days fall on bank holidays, affected days may be swapped or refunded.

 

16. Media Consent

Unless you notify us in writing, you consent to photos/videos of your dog being used for marketing and social media.

 

17. Force Majeure

 

We are not liable for failure to perform services due to events beyond our reasonable control.

18. Data Protection

 

Your data will be stored securely and used only for the purposes of providing services and meeting legal obligations, in line with UK data protection laws.

 

19. General

 

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between both parties. If any clause is found unenforceable, the remainder shall remain valid.

 

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
